Referral service only

We are not a plumbing contractor, plumber, engineer, inspector, insurer, utility, or representative of any contractor. We do not repair, replace, install, or inspect water heaters, diagnose equipment, prepare estimates, pull permits, or guarantee the work, availability, pricing, licensing, insurance, or results of any referred contractor.

Contractors we refer are licensed and insured to the best of our referral information, but you must verify current licensing, insurance, business identity, permit responsibility, references, and written scope before hiring.

Licensing in Texas — what to verify

This section exists because verifying a plumber's credentials in Texas is genuinely straightforward, and knowing how protects you.

Texas licenses plumbers at the state level. The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) issues four license types — Tradesman Plumber-Limited, Journeyman Plumber, Master Plumber, and Plumbing Inspector. Licenses renew annually and require continuing education. Water heater installation and repair is licensed plumbing work.

You can check any license yourself. TSBPE publishes a free public license lookup at tsbpe.texas.gov. Ask any plumber for their license number and verify it before work begins. This applies to contractors referred through this site exactly as it does to any other.

San Antonio adds a registration requirement. Before pulling a permit in the city, a plumber must register their State Master Plumber License with the City of San Antonio Development Services Department. Registration requires current insurance on file with the state board and renews annually.

A water heater replacement requires a permit, pulled by the plumber, followed by an inspection. That inspection is the only independent verification that the connections, venting, relief valve discharge, and expansion tank were done correctly.

Because this site describes referred contractors as "licensed and insured," we want to be precise about what that means: it reflects our referral information at the time, not an ongoing audit. Ask for the TSBPE license number, a current certificate of insurance, and written confirmation that the permit is included in the quoted price. Do not treat this website as proof of any contractor's compliance.

Estimates and equipment

A contractor's estimate is the contractor's responsibility. Ask what capacity was recommended and why, what is and is not included, whether the permit and expansion tank are in the price, and what warranty applies to labor as distinct from manufacturer parts coverage. A referral does not mean your water heater needs replacing.

Price ranges published on this site are general planning information gathered from published market sources at the time of writing. They are not quotes, offers, or guarantees, and your actual price depends on your home, your equipment, and your contractor.

Water quality and maintenance information

Information published here about water hardness in San Antonio and surrounding communities is drawn from public utility publications, including the San Antonio Water System and New Braunfels Utilities, and is general information believed accurate at the time of writing. Water characteristics vary by location, by source, and over time, and properties on private wells are not covered by any municipal report.

Maintenance guidance on this site — flushing intervals, anode rod inspection, descaling — is general homeowner information, not a substitute for your equipment manufacturer's documentation or a plumber's assessment of your specific unit.

Codes, permits, and regulations

Information about Texas plumbing code requirements, expansion tanks, permit costs, and municipal registration requirements is general information believed accurate at the time of writing.

These change. Codes are amended, fees are revised, and local requirements differ between the municipalities and counties in this region. Verify current requirements with your local building department before making a purchase decision. No warranty

This website is provided as is. We do not warrant that the information here is complete, current, or error-free, and we do not warrant any contractor's work. Any warranty on equipment or labor comes from the manufacturer or the contractor, not from us.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Water Heater Repair San Antonio is not liable for a contractor's acts, omissions, delays, pricing, communications, workmanship, or disputes, and our total liability arising from your use of this site is limited to one hundred dollars. Questions about a contractor's work should be directed to that contractor.

Not safety advice

Content on this site about gas smells, leaking tanks, pressure relief valves, and shutting off water or fuel supply is general homeowner information, not a safety inspection or professional advice. If you smell gas, leave the building and call your gas utility's emergency line from outside — do not operate switches or use a phone inside. Our plumbing company directory lists businesses using facts published on each company's own website as of the date noted on that page. Listings are alphabetical, carry no ratings or rankings, and are not endorsements. We receive no payment for inclusion, and we do not publish other companies' phone numbers. Information may become outdated; verify anything material directly with the business. If you own a listed business and something is inaccurate, or you would prefer not to be listed, contact us and we will correct or remove it.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to submit false information, another person's details without their permission, automated bulk submissions, or anything unlawful. We may decline or discontinue service at our discretion.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
